About Me

Hello! My name is Briley Barnes, and I am an art major at Texas Tech planning on opening a small art studio here in Lubbock after I graduate :) In my first year of college, I experienced the overwhelming love and beauty of Jesus Christ in a way that changed everything about my life. I gravitated towards art as a way to express the newfound love of truth and beauty that followed from faith. As a painter, I enjoy exploring combinations of color and light through designs that are introspective and symbolic. I also have a passion for coming alongside younger artists to give them the space to develop their skillset, confidence, and imagination!

    About the Studio

I began college planning to teach in the Lubbock school district once I graduated. However, when the perfect opportunity for a space came along, the idea for Still Spring Studio was born. As an artist myself growing up, I often found myself torn between wanting to participate in extracurriculars that put me around my friends and wanting to work on my art. I know many artists run up against this problem, so it is my vision with the studio to create a social space where young artists can create art and friendships--at the same time!

So whether your kiddo loves art or just wants to try something new--stay posted for future updates from the studio. Once I graduate, I plan on offering classes for all different age groups, art mediums, and interests full time! In the meantime, I am running summer classes and planning on having a Saturday art club this school year for kids in the 6-11 age group that creates a new project every Saturday morning and explores different art mediums!
