What to Expect
I know joining a new class can be intimidating, so here's a little page detailing what to expect if you join in on one of my summer classes :)

Class Layout
Show up
The first few minutes we'll do a quick ice breaker to get to know each other. Then I'll do a project overview to get everyone comfortable with the supplies and project.
Begin Project
For the Tuesday painting workshops, I'll guide us through a painting step by step. Students are also free to make creative changes along the way. For the Thursday craft workshops, I'll do a quick demo followed by lots of free worktime.
Clean Up
I'll set aside about ten minutes near the end to let projects dry, wash hands, and take brushes to the sink before parents show up. So no one feels rushed, this is also a good built in cushion for artists who enjoy taking their time :)
Tip for Success-Wear Messy Clothes
Even for the most careful painters, paint has a way of finding its way onto students' clothes and shoes. If your kiddo has an outfit/pair of shoes that they don't mind getting messy I would highly recommend wearing that to class. I have some students that have one tee shirt set aside to wear to every time they join a class, and I think this is a great strategy!
Just a note--I've been asked often if parents are supposed to leave or stay. You can do either! Most parents leave to get a few things done before coming back at the end of class. However, you are also more than welcome to stay if you would like to for any reason!
